About Us
We are a family winery in Detzem on the Moselle.
Our vineyards are located on the steep slate slopes surrounding the village. Here, we work every day to create wines that are clear, honest, and lively.
Not loud. Not interchangeable. But rather shaped by handcraft, nature, and the special character of the Mosel.
In Harmony with Nature
We believe that great wines are not made. They are uncovered.
That's why we work with nature in the vineyard and as carefully as possible in the cellar. Not to give every vintage the same taste, but to reveal what makes it special.
We do not intervene to shape a wine. We accompany it on its journey.
This is how wines with clarity and character are created.
For us, wine is more than what's in the bottle.
A good wine accompanies special moments. It brings people to a table, makes conversations longer, and turns an evening into a memory.
That's why we don't make wines meant to impress. Instead, we make wines that you enjoy opening, sharing, and rediscovering.
For moments that last.
Our Philosophy
When we took over the winery, it quickly became clear to us which path we wanted to take.
We wanted to produce wines that we ourselves love to drink. Honest, full of character, and shaped by the place where they are made.
To achieve this, we questioned many things, changed some, and at the same time preserved what is indispensable to us: manual labor, respect for nature, and the conviction that quality takes time.
Our wines are created between the slate slopes and the loops of the Moselle.
Steep vineyards have shaped the landscape around Detzem for centuries. Slate soils, the unique climate of the Moselle, and the close connection between people and nature create conditions that make this place unique.
We spend a large part of the year here. Between pruning in winter, blooming vineyards in spring, and the harvest in autumn.
Anyone who has walked through the vines above the Moselle quickly understands why we feel so connected to this place.
Good wine begins long before the harvest.
It starts with winter pruning, with every decision in the vineyard, and with the question of how much a vine should yield.
We work with low yields, selective harvesting, and a keen sense for the right moment. Because quality is not a matter of chance. It is the result of many small decisions that you can later taste in the glass.
In the cellar, we then give the wines the time they need.
Ultimately, for us, it's about honest wines with character.
For wines that bring joy, bring people together, and make a moment special.
Whether it's Riesling from slate, fresh rosé, fine Burgundy, or a wine for special occasions: each wine tells a piece of our winery, our work, and the Mosel.
